Job summary

Lunchbox Theatre in Calgary seeks a dynamic Artistic Director to lead and develop its future season. You will guide artistic strategy, mentor artists, and oversee production budgets while collaborating closely with the administrative team to secure grants and partnerships.

We seek a seasoned theatre professional with a passion for new play development and community engagement, ready to drive Lunchbox Theatre forward post-COVID-19 era.

Qualifications

• Experience, talent, and training in at least one theatre discipline — especially new play development.
• Arts administration experience is an asset.
• General business skills (accounting, marketing, etc.) and a history of getting things done.

Responsibilities

• Produce great theatre – delight, inspire, and amaze our audience.
• Find artists who are passionate and enable them to do their thing; mentor and support emerging artists.
• Contribute artistically by acting, directing, dramaturgy, designing, writing, etc.; thrive in multiple disciplines.
• Lead the development of Lunchbox Theatre's long-term artistic vision.
• Have strict accountability for production budgets – expenses and revenues.
• Collaborate with the Administration Manager in grant proposals.
