Job description

The Articling Student will gain experience through multiple roles in the field and office and are also given the opportunity to work in a branch office as well as head office to increase their exposure and experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and check legal and topographic surveys
  • Assist with preparation of engineering and construction layouts (sewers, waterlines, curbing)
  • Assist with survey calculations and plan preparation
  • Maintain records of field notes and files related to the job
  • Prepare job estimates
  • Track job costs and prepare invoices
  • Provide client consultation
  • Other duties as required

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Survey Science
  • Thorough knowledge of CAD systems, preferably MicroStation
  • Good understanding of Total Station and Data Collector technology
  • Working knowledge of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to learn new field and office surveying technologies
  • Valid Driver's license
