Qualifications

  • Working towards CPA PEP prerequisites.
  • Previous accounting office experience is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Develop technical skills in areas such as compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
  • Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and/or ASPE.
  • Set up files for new clients and businesses, manage multiple files, and conduct inventory counts.
  • Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset management, and payroll walkthroughs with clients professionally.
  • Summarize financial status by preparing balance sheets, income statements, and other reports.
  • Assess the appropriateness of audit evidence for various financial entries and reports.
  • Review and correct discrepancies in financial data.
  • Establish charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting.
  • Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with the engagement team and build client relationships.
  • Contribute to process improvements using internal systems.
  • Maintain flexibility to travel as needed.
Skills and Experience
  • Currently pursuing or completed a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting major).
  • Working towards CPA PEP prerequisites.
  • Previous accounting office experience is an asset.
  • Customer service experience is an asset.
  • Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.
