The Village of Tansley Woods located in Burlington, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for an Art Therapist - Independent Contractor to join their team.

Position Details
  • Position: Permanent Part-Time
  • Hours: Approximately 88 hours monthly
  • Shifts: Varied shifts
Qualifications and Responsibilities
  • Enrolled in or completed a Degree in Art Therapy or equivalent
  • Completed the required internship hours
  • Eligible for membership with the Canadian Art Therapy Association
  • Maintain personal professional liability insurance
  • Support residents in creative expression within a safe and welcoming environment
  • Collaborate with the Recreation team to support resident growth, purpose, and meaning
  • Encourage physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and cognitive development
  • Align with the Village's philosophy and values
  • Display caring and respectful attitude towards residents, families, and team members
Preferred Assets
  • Previous experience working with seniors
  • Knowledge of therapy practices and techniques to enhance resident well-being
  • Understanding of relevant sections of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007
