Position title: Pre- six 4D Visual Art Lecturer
Salary range: A reasonable estimate for an appointment to teach a standard five-credit course is $8,531-$10,492 (based on salary points 1-8). Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year.
Percent time: Variable, based on the course load assigned.
Anticipated start: Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding. This recruitment is valid for initial appointments made in fall quarter 2024 through fall quarter 2025. Initial appointments outside this period will require an alternative open recruitment.
Position duration: Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the academic year (fall, winter, spring), but may also be during Summer Session.

The Art Department at UCSC invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers to teach 4D visual art courses at various levels. Topics include 4D foundation, digital media, digital video, new media, digital tools, programming for art, interactive art, robotics, animation, and digital illustration.
The department values socially and environmentally engaged work. Candidates should have a notable exhibition record and professional experience in contemporary visual art practice. Preference given to those with abilities to work with diverse students and multidisciplinary approaches spanning art practice, social practice, performance, and intersections of art, science, and technology.

Basic qualifications: M.F.A. or Ph.D. in a relevant field or four years of professional experience with a record of public art performances, exhibitions, or installations.
