Job Description

ECS is seeking an ARPA-H Scientist/Engineer (Neurological Therapeutics) to work remotely. Are you a passionate scientist with a background in biomedical research and/or engineering supporting R&D initiatives? Are you ready to support ARPA-H's mission to accelerate health outcomes through complex, high-impact R&D projects?

Under the leadership of a Program Manager, you will serve as a Systems, Engineering, and Technical Assistance (SETA) advisor, providing support and thought leadership for programs in neurobiology and cell-based regenerative medicine.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting program development and progress as advised by the Portfolio Lead.
• Evaluating technical proposals for scientific merit and innovation.
• Conducting scientific landscape analysis to identify research gaps aligned with ARPA-H's mission, monitoring progress, digesting complex information, and preparing briefings for diverse audiences.
• Providing feedback, organizing reviewer comments, drafting recommendations, project summaries, and presentation materials.
• Performing market analyses, technical due diligence, literature reviews, and generating briefing documents.
• Developing technical and administrative documentation to communicate technical approaches, progress, costs, schedules, and risks for advanced tech efforts.

Qualifications and Experience:

• PhD or MD/PhD with 4+ years in industry or research in fields such as neurobiology, neurodevelopment, neurological surgery, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, AI, iPS cell technology, or therapeutic product development (non-small molecules, including GLP/GMP).
• Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills for dynamic presentation and data management.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to produce reports and briefings.
• Willingness to travel (~10-20%) within CONUS as needed.
• Experience supporting R&D programs and program managers is preferred.
• Flexibility to work outside standard hours to meet deadlines.
• Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

Desired Skills:

• Experience supporting ARPA-style program development and source selection processes.
