Job Description

ECS is seeking an ARPA-H Multidisciplinary Scientist / Engineer (Obstetrics / Clinical Monitoring / Diagnostic Systems) Technical SETA to work remotely. Are you passionate about systems engineering or multidisciplinary science, especially in developing or evaluating diagnostic and therapeutic modalities including medical devices and pharmacotherapies? Do you want to support ARPA-H's mission to improve health outcomes through innovative R&D projects? If yes, this role supports a Program Manager developing breakthrough technologies related to obstetrics care.

In this position, you will collaborate with ARPA-H team members to advance bold research initiatives, support program development, funding, and management to meet ARPA-H’s goals. The responsibilities include :

  • Contributing to a multidisciplinary team focused on obstetrics-related innovations.
  • Providing expertise in medical devices for vital signs and fetal monitoring, as well as therapeutics for maternal health.
  • Evaluating technical proposals for scientific merit and innovation, providing feedback, organizing reviews, and preparing summaries and presentations.
  • Performing market, regulatory, and literature reviews, and generating briefing documents on new medical technologies.
  • Developing technical and administrative documentation to communicate project approaches, progress, costs, schedules, and risks.

Salary Range : $120,000 - $190,000

Required Skills

  • PhD with 2+ years or MS with 5+ years or BA with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in developing or evaluating diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, including medical devices and pharmacotherapies.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of industry leaders and disruptors.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in maternal health care is preferred.
  • Supporting ARPA-like programs (e.g., DARPA, IARPA, ARPA-E) or U.S. DoD development experience is a plus.
