The land component of the Canadian Armed Forces is the Canadian Army. We train and supply troops to protect and defend Canada. The Royal Canadian Navy is Canada’s naval force. The Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) is one of three environmental commands in the Canadian Armed Forces. • The candidate must be able to operate armoured vehicles, artillery, hand-held weapons, and other military combat and defence systems.
• The candidate will be required to participate in non-combat humanitarian operations.
• The candidate will be expected to assist in emergency situations such as civil unrest, natural disasters, and major accidents.
• The candidate will be required to participate in drills and other training in preparation for peacekeeping, combat, and natural disaster relief duties.
• The candidate will be expected to carry out administrative and security duties.
• The candidate will be responsible for driving and maintaining the tank.
• The candidate must be able to fire the tank’s main gun.
• The candidate will be required to load the main gun and machineguns on the tank.
• The candidate will be expected to keep the tank’s communications equipment in good working order.
• The candidate must collect and relay information about the enemy and the terrain.
• The candidate will be expected to provide reconnaissance and direct-fire support in battle using armoured fighting vehicles such as the Leopard main battle tank, the Coyote surveillance vehicle, and a wheeled Light Utility Vehicle variant.
