Area Supply Attendant (Casual)

BC Clinical & Support Services

Surrey, BC (Surrey Memorial Hospital)

Under the direction of the Stores Supervisor or the Logistics Coordinator, this position is responsible for stock maintenance, distribution, and data recording functions.

What you'll do
  1. Count, record, and enter the status of departmental medical/surgical supplies using computer systems or handheld devices.
  2. Perform return functions according to established procedures.
  3. Deliver and restock medical/surgical supplies to departments following established quotas.
  4. Complete routine records and documentation for supplies received and delivered.
  5. Enter requisitions into the computer system as needed.
  6. Clean carts, shelves, and rotate stock in stores and assigned areas.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized storeroom.
  8. Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, and data entry.
  9. Assist with inventories and cycle counts as required.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring
Qualifications
  • Grade 10 plus six months of recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous-specific mandates, cultural safety, and humility, with a commitment to anti-racism and equity in healthcare.
  • Understanding of the impacts of settler colonialism and systemic racism on Indigenous Peoples and health disparities.
  • Familiarity with legislative obligations and provincial commitments related to Indigenous rights and anti-racism policies.
Core Competencies
  • Understanding of Indigenous-specific and systemic racism, with initiatives to promote a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Awareness of social, economic, and political realities affecting Indigenous Peoples and health equity.
Skills & Knowledge
