Summary:

Work with the Area Head of Ground Freight Operations to set the strategic direction for Supplier Management. Responsible for managing our supplier performance and compliance, ensuring that on-time delivery, visibility, capacity, volume split, payments, and other mutual obligations are safeguarded and delivered as contracted. Ensure efficient delivery business operations in accordance with product commitments and drive conflict or dispute resolution with vendors. Lead supplier management activities on Maersk’s transformation journey, focusing on digital-driven habits.

Responsibilities:

Drive Supplier Management Outcomes:

  • Monitor service quality (OTD, Data Exchange, Visibility, etc.) of suppliers across customers and modes (e.g., Truck, Rail, Barge) and act on non-compliance.
  • Monitor service quality of Maersk (Allocations, Payment, integrations, etc.) and act on non-compliance.
  • Drive onboarding of current suppliers to policies, tools, and operational items.
  • Drive compliance from suppliers to Maersk standards via portal, digital integrations, payment policies, and operational activities.
  • Ensure specific obligations from Maersk are implemented across relevant teams (DEL, P2P, CX, etc.) in collaboration with procurement.

Drive Cost to Serve Focus:

  • Review and audit supplier allocation performance to ensure alignment with product and procurement directions, raising deviations for action.
  • Ensure suppliers adopt Maersk payment standards based on FIN guidance.
  • Provide timely market and customer feedback to the organization.
  • Share supplier performance and compliance updates with the organization.
  • Resolve conflicts or disputes with vendors, understanding root causes, and working collaboratively for solutions.

Develop and Sustain a Capable Vendor Management Team:

  • Build a team focused on delivering superior customer outcomes through efficient delivery networks.
  • Attract and develop talent capable of collaborating in a matrix environment.
  • Ensure team operates in line with policies, safety standards, and regulations (training, coaching, development).
  • Manage performance and ensure goals are met.
  • Create an environment for growth, empowerment, engagement, and trust.

Accountabilities:

  • Supplier compliance with operational standards (digitization, data exchange, invoice controls, etc.)
  • Building partnerships and innovation with suppliers
  • Overall supplier management outcomes in country and area

  • Supplier compliance to SLA and volume distribution

Education and Experience:
