Job summary

Tolsma-Grisnich is seeking an Area Manager to drive sales across Western Canada, including travel throughout the region and leadership of the Lethbridge office. You will acquire new customers, nurture existing relationships, and coordinate with our Netherlands HQ to deliver top storage solutions for potatoes, onions and carrots.

Ideal candidates are energetic, proactive, and comfortable leading a team in a technical/agricultural environment while promoting new products at trade shows and events

Qualifications

  • English communication; Dutch knowledge is a plus.
  • Background in agriculture, sales or related field with technical affinity.
  • Experience in technical or agricultural environments.

Responsibilities

  • Follow developments in the market.
  • Acquire new customers and develop new markets across Western Canada.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
  • Manage the Lethbridge office operations and installation crew.
  • Coordinate with headquarters in the Netherlands on shipments and service.
  • Support project management and daily operations of new projects.
  • Provide local phone and remote support during storage season.
  • Promote new products and participate in trade shows and events.

To support our strong commercial growth ambitions in Western Canada, we are looking for an Area Manager: an ambitious, energetic and commercially driven professional with a passion for agricultural technology who wants to help further develop the success of Tolsma-Grisnich in Western Canada.

Tolsma-Grinisch: feeding the world with our technology.

  • Responsible for sales across Western Canada, including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
  • Responsible for acquiring new customers and developing new markets, while also maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Tolsma-Grisnich office in Lethbridge, including:
  • Managing the installation crew based in Lethbridge.
  • Maintaining close communication with our headquarters in the Netherlands regarding shipments, service and all other activities required to provide the best solutions for our customers.
  • Supporting project management and the day-to-day operations of new projects.
  • Provide local support for existing customers by phone and remotely through our storage computer systems, during the storage and grading season while they are using Tolsma-Grisnich equipment.
  • Promote our new and improved products to existing and potential customers, including during demonstration days.
  • Attend agricultural trade shows and other commercial events.

What is required?

Customer-focused mindset with a good understanding of farmers and their needs.

Energetic, independent and proactive, with a hands-on attitude.

Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Dutch is an asset.

Educational or professional background in agriculture, sales or a related commercial field, with a strong technical affinity.

Experience working in a technical and/or agricultural environment.

Strong relationship-building skills with excellent attention to detail.

Well organized and structured, with the ability and willingness to lead a team.

Willingness to travel frequently throughout Western Canada.
