Job summary

Strathmore Landscaping in Western Toronto is seeking an Area Manager to oversee snow removal operations this winter season. You will plan operations, dispatch crews to multiple commercial sites, supervise staff, and ensure service standards align with client expectations.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role requires 3+ years managing teams in landscaping/snow removal, strong communication and organizational skills, and a valid provincial driver’s license.

• Plan operations & dispatch crews to perform snow removal activities on several commercial locations simultaneously.
• Oversee snow removal operations to meet internal standards and client expectations.
• Visit sites to visually inspect sites during or after snow removal operations.
• Create & update tickets and purchase orders in our snow removal system.
• Handle customer complaints & resolve issues within a timely manner.
• Coordinate with Account Managers & provide consistent documented feedback to management.
• Participate in review of contracts and year-end review.
• Other related duties.

Job Summary:

The Area Manager’s overall role is to communicate organizational needs, oversee employees' performance, provide guidance, support, and manage the reciprocal relationship between staff and the organization so that each is successful. This role pertains to winter season supervision planning operations and overseeing snow removal activities, ensuring internal standards and client expectations are met while providing consistent feedback to management.

Reports to: Operations Manager

Major Responsibilities

• Plan operations & dispatch crews to perform snow removal activities on several commercial locations simultaneously.
• Oversee snow removal operations to meet our internal standards and our client expectations.
• Visit sites to visually inspect sites during or after snow removal operations.
• Create & update tickets and purchase orders in our snow removal system.
• Handle customer complaints & resolve issues within a timely manner.
• Coordinate with Account Managers & provide consistent documented feedback to management.
• Participate in review of contracts and year-end review.
• Other related duties.

Requirements

• 3+ years managing teams in landscaping, Snow removal, or construction (Managing large-scale operations in other domains could be considered)
• Must be able to work autonomously and be passionate.
• Very good communication skills
• Very good organizational skills, ability to manage stress and perform multiple tasks.
• Functional knowledge of computers and applications
• Valid provincial driver’s license with a clean driving record

Terms

• Winter seasonal contract : October 1st to April 30th
• This is a seasonal contract with a start and end date
• Extended hours may be necessary during precipitation events (Supervisors must manage their availability jointly with their Operations Manager)
• Company vehicle provided for the duration of the contract
• Complete a background check
