Position Summary:

As the Area Manager at Affinity Health (AH), you will be at the forefront of driving business growth and shaping the future of healthcare in the Champlain area. With AH’s thirty years of a proven track record in the homecare sector, you will oversee the delivery of nurse-managed homecare solutions and innovative care models. Your leadership will focus on driving profitability, operational excellence, and ensuring AH’s presence as a key provider in the local market.

By leveraging AH's established partnerships with hospitals and healthcare providers, you will not only manage existing programs but also support the creation and scaling of new, groundbreaking care initiatives that set the standard for patient care and business performance within the Champlain area. As the Area Manager, you will collaborate with senior leadership to execute a strategic local growth plan, ensuring that AH maintains its commitment to excellence in service delivery while also expanding its footprint within the Champlain area.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

1.Local Strategy & Business Development:

  • Responsible for execution of the local strategy for AH, with a strong focus on expanding homecare services and building new service lines within the Champlain area.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership to ensure that local growth efforts are aligned with regional goals and the broader vision of AH.
  • Oversee multiple business lines in the Champlain area, ensuring they meet performance goals, customer satisfaction standards, and business profitability.
  • Support existing projects operations and growth

·Identify opportunities to expand services, client base, or partnerships with hospitals, physicians, OH@H, retirement homes, etc.

·Lead local marketing and outreach efforts to increase referrals and revenue

·Support implementation of new services or contracts

2.Operational Excellence & Performance Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional homecare and other healthcare services that meet AH's high standards for quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Work closely with senior management to align operational performance with regional growth objectives.
  • Implement processes to drive efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Lead financial performance management, monitoring budgets, operational costs, and financial outcomes to ensure business sustainability.

·Align area operations with broader organizational goals (e.g., patient outcomes, profitability, compliance)

·Monitor KPIs such as client retention, staff productivity, referral growth, and client satisfaction

3.Client-Centered Care & Local Partnerships:

  • Foster a culture of person-centered care, ensuring that all clients and families receive the highest standard of service and support.
  • Support the development of strategic partnerships on a local scale, building relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
  • Work closely with local healthcare providers and community groups to expand AH’s network and improve patient care outcomes.

4.Employee Leadership & Staff Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of healthcare professionals, fostering a supportive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.
  • Ensure that all employees are properly oriented, trained, and provided with ongoing development opportunities to enhance their skills and career growth.
  • Promote a culture of engagement, retention, and continuous improvement among staff, ensuring that the branch attracts and retains high-quality talent.
  • Lead by example to inspire dedication, professionalism, and a commitment to AH’s mission of providing exceptional care.

·Support recruitment, training, and case managers and field staff

·Manage scheduling, caseload balancing, and service optimization

5.Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Ensure that all services are in full compliance with regulatory standards and AH’s policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure the continuous improvement of care delivery based on data-driven assessments and feedback.
  • Lead risk management efforts, including incident reporting, compliance checks, and safety protocols to protect both clients and employees.

·Oversee daily operations across a defined geographic area (Champlain region)

·Ensure consistency and quality of care delivery

·Manage local clinical and administrative teams

·Plays a crucial role in balancing operational efficiency with client-centered care

6.Community Engagement & Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Develop and maintain local relationships with community organizations, health authorities, and service providers to ensure a collaborative approach to healthcare delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for local stakeholders, ensuring that AH's role in the Champlain community is well understood and well-represented.
  • Collaborate with local organizations to identify emerging needs and develop initiatives that improve the health and well-being of the local population.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

·Education: University degree or diploma in healthcare, business, or a related field.

·Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare, with at least 2 years of management experience.

·Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams and drive business outcomes.

·Staff Development: Demonstrated success in implementing employee retention strategies and creating a supportive work environment to attract and retain skilled professionals.

·Healthcare Expertise: Experience in homecare, patient-centered care, and managing multiple service lines is preferred.

·Communication: Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

·Language Skills: Proficiency in French is an asset for communication within the Champlain area.

Position Requirements:

  • Certifications: Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last six months).
  • Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with healthcare technologies and systems to support effective service delivery and operations.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel regularly within the Champlain area for site visits and meetings.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work flexible hours as required to support branch operations.
