Job summary

Amazon's Brampton fulfillment centre in Ontario is seeking an Area Manager II to lead front-line operations, guiding a team of up to 80 hourly associates and ensuring safety, quality, attendance, and performance during shifts.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and HR to meet business goals, analyze performance gaps, and drive scalable process improvements across multiple workflows.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Job description

Amazon's fulfillment network in Brampton, Ontario is looking for an Area Manager II to lead front-line operations at one of its high-volume fulfillment centres. In this role, you will lead a team of up to 80 hourly associates and will be responsible for engaging your team during their shifts to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
  • Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
  • Collaborate with all support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to develop plans to meet business objectives
  • Conduct planning sessions and coach team members through operational challenges while developing their leadership capabilities
  • Diagnose root causes of performance gaps using advanced analytics
  • Facilitate alignment meetings with senior leadership on department-level goals
  • Implement scalable process improvements that could impact 200+ associates across multiple workflows
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
  • Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
  • Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud
  • Work in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather
  • Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs)
  • Possess a valid driver's licence in the province of residence
Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
  • Experience in the management of large teams (50+ members)
  • Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field
  • Experience in shipping/logistics distribution centres, manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, retail, or customer-facing environments
Compensation

$75,000 – $105,000 CAD annually. Total compensation package may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life & AD&D insurance), RRSP, DPSP, paid time off, and other resources.
