Job description

The Area Manager for the Aggregate Division will be responsible for overseeing the efficient management of aggregate production, distribution, and operations within a designated geographical area. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a management role within the aggregate or civil construction industry (5+ years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of aggregate production, operations, and distribution processes.
  • Previous experience managing teams and overseeing multiple sites.
  • In-depth understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed within the region.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise all aggregate operations, including production, distribution, and delivery of materials, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, operators, and other staff across multiple sites.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations regarding safety, environmental standards, and quality control.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing, equipment management, and inventory control.
  • Work closely with the senior management team to develop and implement strategic plans for growth and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and report on performance metrics, including productivity, cost management, and safety performance.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure project success.
  • Manage health and safety programs to maintain a zero-accident culture and improve operational processes.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and provide solutions to maintain high levels of productivity and safety.
