This role supports the ongoing proactive approach to ensure high standards of housing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing property surveys, including damp and mould inspections and diagnosis. Core duties will include:

  1. Carrying out responsive repair and void inspections, including pre- and post-works inspections, to ensure the right work is completed to a high standard that meets customer needs.
  2. Managing responsive and major works related to damp and mould projects, service contracts from inception to completion, in accordance with current legislation, including health and safety (CDM) and regulatory compliance.
  3. Performance management of contractors delivering repairs and planned works projects/contracts. Monitoring contractors to ensure timely delivery, analysing data, and reporting on performance against key performance indicators monthly.
  4. Monitoring and supporting compliance and performance of fire risk assessments and testing programmes (water, electrical, gas, lifts).
  5. Making technical decisions during property visits, creating work schedules for void properties, designing specifications, managing contracts, ensuring quality control, and overseeing one-off projects.
  6. Delivering high satisfaction levels through effective communication and ensuring work meets legal standards and obligations.
  7. Supervising and managing works to ensure quality and cost control.
  8. Ensuring works are delivered to high standards, complying with statutory requirements and key performance indicators.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in affordable housing property or a similar industry to add value to an organisation with ambitious growth plans and influence its future success.

Ideal candidates will have at least a further education qualification (HNC / HND / Degree) and/or relevant construction, maintenance, or building-related professional qualifications. Experience working within a busy maintenance/property team, managing compliance issues, and sound knowledge of contract law, damp and mould issues, and building legislation are also preferred.
