Michelin is seeking an Area Maintenance Manager to join its team in Waterville, Nova Scotia.

Mission:

The Area Maintenance Manager will lead a team of maintenance personnel in an area of the facility. They will ensure the availability and reliability of equipment in their sector of responsibility while optimizing maintenance costs and energy with a goal of continuous improvement. These efforts are undertaken to support production teams in the shared goals of safety, quality, cost and delivery.

Responsibilities include:

1. Provide a safe working environment for all employees and ensure safe operating conditions of equipment.
2. Apply the maintenance strategy to equipment criticality.
3. Implement maintenance plans, including effective reaction to breakdowns and proactive work on machinery to improve control of the process (reliability).
4. Continuously optimize the effectiveness of machine interventions (ensure analysis of maintenance results and implement necessary actions for continuous progress over short- and medium-term horizons).
5. Lead a team of multidisciplinary maintenance professionals to ensure reliability of equipment, particularly in solving issues of obsolescence.
6. Optimize maintenance costs: operational efficiency, energy, and spare parts consumption.
7. Develop and empower the team, build, and update the succession plan under the leadership of the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements include:

1. Technical college diploma, bachelor or graduate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. 5+ years maintenance management experience with 2+ years of supervisory experience.
3. Demonstrated leadership experience in an industrial environment.
4. Proven record of development of people through coaching, mentoring, and establishment of development plans.
5. Experience in successful resource planning.
