Job Description

The Area Division Lead Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Regina plays a key leadership role in Saskatchewan's healthcare system. Reporting to the Area Department co-Leads Psychiatry and Area Chief of Staff - Regina, this position collaborates with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and health system colleagues to develop and implement strategic plans, identify gaps, and support operational and business plan execution.

The role requires strong leadership to foster an innovative, positive, client-centric work environment. The Lead works cross-functionally within the portfolio and organization, developing partnerships with system and community stakeholders.

Main responsibilities include ensuring the integration of academic activities, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical standards, supporting credentialing and privileging processes, and assisting the Provincial Head in fulfilling departmental missions.

The Lead also partners with the administrative team, overseeing clinical service delivery, workforce planning, and strategic development for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Regina, working in a dyad management model with an Administrative Leader. Additionally, they support the academic mandate related to teaching and research in conjunction with the College of Medicine and Provincial Head.

Job Qualifications
  • Licensed medical practitioner in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan
  • Member of the SHA medical staff with an academic appointment in the College of Medicine
  • Operational leadership experience, working with administrative partners to develop innovative programs in complex environments
  • At least 3 years in progressively senior leadership roles
  • Experience with dyadic leadership models
  • Knowledge of health quality improvement processes
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
Preferred Experience:
  • Canadian Certified Physician Executive Credential (asset)
  • Advanced education in Health Care Administration, Public Administration, or Leadership Studies (asset)
  • Participation in the Canadian Medical Association’s Physician Leadership Institute (asset)
  • Additional leadership/management training or education (asset)
