Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Architectural technologist to join their team in Burnaby. This newly created position offers remote/hybrid work options.

Key responsibilities include performing architectural calculations, preparing reports, and maintaining liaison with design teams. Candidates should have post-secondary education with six years of relevant experience.

A compensation range of $80,000 to $110,000 is offered, along with comprehensive benefits tailored to meet diverse employee needs.

Qualifications

  • Six years of experience in relevant field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Preference for candidates with over ten years of experience as a Registered Architect.
  • LEED certification and familiarity with AAA/AIBC/OAQ/AIA are highly preferred.

Job Description

AECOM Buildings + Places, AECOM’s Architectural business, is seeking an Architectural technologist to join our team. This position will be based out of our Burnaby office with remote/hybrid work options permitted. This is a newly created position.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic architectural/engineering calculations.
  • Prepare specifications, reports, and related data tables.
  • Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups.
  • Prepare, review, and approve drawings as required.
  • Under some supervision, may complete design assignments of moderate to high complexity.
  • Limited familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.
  • Be introduced to the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline‑associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures.
  • Have intermediate to advanced understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents.
  • Be introduced to the process of performing material take‑offs for the discipline.
Minimum Requirements
  • Post Secondary education + Six (6) years of experience as or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference for those with over ten years of experience as a Registered Architect with the OAA, experience with Science & Technology laboratories and facilities is a definite asset.
  • LEED certification and familiarity with AAA/AIBC/OAQ/AIA are highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in REVIT, BIM, MS Office, Adobe Suite, and strong communication abilities are essential.
Additional Information
  • Company paid relocation is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000.
