Job description

AECOM Buildings Places, AECOM's architectural business, is seeking an Architect to join our team. This position can be based in our Calgary, Winnipeg, or Saskatoon offices, with remote/hybrid work options permitted.

AECOM Buildings Places Canada (BP Canada) is a vibrant, growing, fully integrated team spanning architecture, building engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics, and asset management for design and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic architectural/engineering calculations.
  • Prepare specifications, reports, and related data tables.
  • Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups.
  • Prepare, review, and approve drawings as required.
  • Independently perform advanced technical assignments under the direction of the Supervising Architect.
  • Coordinate technical and administrative activities with other disciplines and departments.
  • Assist in training and evaluating architectural and design/drafting personnel.
  • Develop studies, programs, concepts, preliminary and final plans, and specifications.
  • Ensure designs comply with client requirements, local codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Lead project coordination with multidisciplinary teams, both internal and external.
  • Interface with clients, authorities, and project participants.
  • Participate in project development across AECOM's design offices nationwide.
  • Identify and advocate for process improvements.
  • Complete work independently with general guidance on new tasks.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • University Degree in Architecture.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Architect with the OAA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Science & Technology laboratories and facilities is a plus.
  • LEED certification and familiarity with AAA / AIBC / OAQ / AIA are highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in REVIT, BIM, MS Office, Adobe Suite; strong communication skills.
