The Walter Fedy Partnership is seeking an Architectural Technologist to support the technical execution of projects across scales. You will translate design intent into accurate, coordinated documentation under the Project Architect and design team.

You will develop BIM models, working drawings, and coordinate systems and details, ensuring alignment with codes and project standards, contributing to high-quality deliverables and design excellence.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Architectural Technology or related field.
  • 2–4+ years of experience in a design-focused architectural practice.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit for BIM and construction documentation; working knowledge of AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Translate concept designs into technically sound, buildable solutions with the design team.
  • Develop detailed BIM models and working drawings (plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules).
  • Produce coordinated drawings and documentation from schematic design through construction documents using Revit.

Job Overview

We're seeking a skilled Architectural Technologistwith a strong interest in architectural design excellenceto support thehigh-qualitytechnical execution of projects across a range of scales and programtype.

Working under the direction oftheProject Architect andalongside projectdesigners, andin close collaboration with an integrated, multidisciplinary team, this role plays a critical part in translating design intent intoaccurate, coordinated, and buildable documentation. The position offers an opportunity to grow as a technical expert while contributing to design focused, contemporaryarchitecture,and excellence inprojectdelivery.

TheArchitecturalTechnologistisresponsible fordeveloping detailed architectural Building Information Modelling,producing highqualityand coordinatedconstruction documents,andprovidingarchitecturaltechnical supportthrough construction stage work.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Translate conceptual and schematic designs into technically sound, buildable solutions in collaboration with the Project Architect and design team.
  • Develop detailed BIM models and working drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and drawing sets.
  • Produce coordinated, accuratearchitectural drawings and technical documentation from schematic design through construction documents usingRevit,in accordance withoffice standards.
  • Develop and coordinate architectural systems and technical details, includinghighperformance buildingenvelopeassemblies.
  • Review and integrate zoning bylaws, building codes, and regulatory requirements into project documentation, under the supervision of the Project Architect.
  • Coordinate architectural work with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and specialty consultants to resolve technical and coordination issues.
  • Prepare and manage drawing packages, ensuring accuracy, consistency, revision control, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Assist with the preparation of architectural specifications, including researching products and systems and coordinating information from suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Participate in contract administration (CA) during construction, including:
    • Conducting onsite field reviews
    • Preparing and issuing field review reports
    • Reviewing and evaluating shop drawings, submittals, and product data for compliance with design intent and technical standards
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to clarify design intent and resolve technical issues during both documentation and construction phases.
  • Apply applicable codes, standards, and best practices for drawings and technical documentation.
  • Support internal quality control processes,maintainingwell organized project files, drawing sets, and revision histories.
  • Participate in internal design and technical reviews, contributing insight related to constructability, materials, detailing, and coordination.
  • Assistsenior technologists, architects, and engineers with site surveys, documentation, and technical research asrequired.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet project budget, schedule, and performanceobjectives.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the company’s values of quality, client focus, teamwork, sustainability, and community.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative, designfocusedstudio environment with an interest indesign excellence and contemporary architecture.
Qualifications
  • Diploma inArchitectural Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, orrelated fields.
  • 2 – 4 (+) years' experienceworking ina design focused architectural practice, with a strong focus on production and technical documentation.
  • Advanced proficiencyinRevitfor BIM and construction documentation. Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding ofCanadian/Ontario building codes, zoning bylaws, and building systems.
  • Experience producing construction documents and supporting projects throughcontract administration.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with multiple disciplines and resolve technical challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational andqualitycontrolskills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and interact with consultants and stakeholders.
  • Demonstratedinterest indesign excellence,highqualitydetailing, and contemporary architecture.
