Job summary

CGV is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join our in-house design team in Cochrane, Ontario. You will contribute to conceptual design, permit drawings, and construction documents for commercial, industrial, and multi-residential projects.

Coordinate with in-house and external design disciplines and work alongside CGV’s estimating, project management, and construction teams to deliver high-quality documentation and compliance with the Ontario Building Code.

Qualifications

• Advanced diploma in architectural technology.
• Experience in design or construction environment; new graduates welcome.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Ontario Building Code.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual design materials, including building layouts, 3D models, and architectural renderings.
• Prepare architectural drawings and specifications for site plan approval, building permit applications, and construction.
• Coordinate architectural work with structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical design disciplines as required.
• Review and apply relevant building code, accessibility, planning, and client requirements.
• Respond to requests for information, prepare site instructions, and issue drawing revisions during construction.
• Conduct site visits to review construction progress and address design-related issues in the field.
• Maintain CGV’s drawing standards and project files.

Since 1975, we have delivered commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-residential building projects across Northern and Central Ontario.

The Role

CGV is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join our in-house design team at our Cochrane office. Work may involve conceptual design, permit drawings, construction documents, or a combination of these on commercial, industrial, and multi-residential projects.

The role involves coordinating with other design disciplines, both in-house and external, and working alongside CGV’s estimating, project management, and construction teams.
