Summary
Position for a candidate looking for a career in Product Specification for Architectural Interiors. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales and PMs to provide specification services. You will be part of a team of talented individuals working in a fast-paced environment. Success in this position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide in depth product knowledge of Architectural interiors products.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously and accurately while managing tight deadlines.
- Review and understand tender documents and construction drawings to provide specifications (IFC & IFT\'s).
- Work closely with PM and installers to make sure all site details are captured and occasionally assist with field measurements.
- Work closely with Sales, Designers, GC’s to develop finished working drawings for specification including plans, elevations, bill of materials, order entry and installation using CET Designer and AutoCAD.
- Manage changes and revisions, reprioritizing as required.
- Maintain detailed and extensive project documentation, including records of all key decisions, phone conversations, approvals and signoffs, and notes from all project planning meetings.
- Manage adherence to project schedule, design task completions and quality of design work.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the construction environment and ability to read and understand construction drawing packages including door schedules, electrical drawings, Reflective ceilings, sprinklers and HVAC.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, work well under pressure on multiple projects and meet deadlines all while maintaining project accuracy.
- Proficient in AutoCAD; CET Designer is an asset but not required.
- Diploma in Architectural Technologist or Architectural Design is preferred.
- 1 year of working experience in specification, ideally in demountable walls systems.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and/or customers.
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of the dealership’s product lines, including features/benefits, application and assembly, specifications, and options.
- Strong Knowledge of Canadian Standards and Codes.
