Join Cuningham as an Architectural Designer II or Licensed Architect

Cuningham is seeking both an Architectural Designer II (non-licensed) and a licensed Architect to join our growing team. These roles are ideal for design professionals who value creativity, collaboration, and a growth mindset. Team members will contribute across all phases of design and documentation, working alongside colleagues and clients to deliver thoughtful, high-quality architectural solutions. Whether on the path to licensure or already licensed, candidates should be motivated by purposeful design and a desire to make meaningful contributions in a dynamic, supportive studio environment.

What you will do:
  1. Develop design solutions, coordinate, and produce project documentation across all phases through an iterative and collaborative process using sketching, 2D/3D modeling, and computational methods aligned with project goals.
  2. Apply regenerative design approaches to enhance the built, social, and natural environments.
  3. Plan and develop design presentations.
  4. Document projects with a focus on creative design and technical detailing.
  5. Collaborate with consultants and contractors for optimal design outcomes.
  6. Coordinate BIM models and documentation internally and externally.
  7. Participate in construction administration activities with project teams and on-site staff.
  8. Support project management with on-site observations and verifications.
  9. Ensure quality work within your focus area.
  10. Proficiently use MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Revit/BIM 360; engage with Rhino, Enscape, Lumion.
  11. Participate in code reviews and research building assemblies, waterproofing, vertical circulation, exterior materials, and interior space planning.
  12. Support exterior massing studies and interior programming with ID team, coordinating with Specifications team.
What we look for:
  1. Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture.
  2. 4+ years' experience, preferably with hospitality or themed entertainment projects.
  3. Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Revit/BIM 360.
  4. Clear communication skills (visual, written, verbal).
  5. Strong discipline and time management skills with personal accountability.
  6. Curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving enthusiasm.
