Job description
Overview

We are seeking a qualified Registered Architect to join our team in delivering innovative architectural and interior design services for commercial and residential projects. This full-time permanent position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across all design phases. Candidates should be familiar with design-focused, detail-oriented design, and sustainable design principles, and have exposure to all phases of the design process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Realize architectural design from concepts to construction.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents across both architecture and interior design scopes.
  • Create 3D architectural models, visual renderings, and 3D printed prototypes for client presentations.
  • Research and ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and municipal bylaws.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications and coordinate with regulatory authorities.
  • Conduct client consultations, prepare design presentations, and manage project budgets.
  • Provide contract administration services including site visits, submittal reviews, and RFI responses.
  • Coordinate with structural, mechanical, consultants and construction professionals.
Required Qualifications
  • Education & Licensure
    • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Architecture from an accredited program
    • Registration as an Architect with the Alberta Association of Architects (AAA)
    • Certified Interior Designer with NCIDQ certification
    • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in architectural practice, preferably in Alberta
    • Experience should encompass all project phases including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and contract administration.
    • Experience with commercial and residential projects
    • Experience in architectural design and interior design
    • Ability to review mechanical, electrical, and structural drawings in detail and coordinate with these consultants
    • Site visits, detailed field reviews, and documentation of reviews
    • Formal construction administration documentation (change orders, RFIs, progress claims, etc.)
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp
    • Advanced visualization and rendering: Enscape, 3D printing (PrusaSlicer)
    • Presentation and documentation: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat
