Job summary

An archaeological consultancy in southern Ontario is looking for experienced archaeological field technicians and energetic entry-level students for the field season from September to December. Candidates will assist with archaeological testing and excavation, gaining hands-on experience in a supportive environment. Competitive compensation starts at $23.00/hr for entry-level and $25.00/hr+ for experienced candidates. Qualifications

• Completion or working towards a BA in Archaeology/Anthropology or related fields.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to variable work locations.
• Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor conditions.

Irvin Heritage is an archaeological consultancy based in Newmarket that services all of Southern Ontario. We conduct all stages of archaeological assessment and offer guidance and project management related to the mitigation and management of archaeological resources. We believe every member of our staff should have the knowledge to understand all requirements of the provincial archaeological process.

We are looking primarily for experienced archaeological field technicians but also encourage energetic entry level students to apply. We are hiring candidates to finish out the field season assisting with archaeological testing and excavation from September-December.

Licensed Field Directors are also encouraged to apply.

We Require:

• Completion or working toward a BA in Archaeology/Anthropology or related fields
• Valid Drivers License and ability to independently travel to carpool locations
• Ability to travel daily to variable work locations
• Ability to stay consecutive nights up to 5 days out of town (individual hotel rooms and per diem provided)
• Ability to work a physically demanding job in a variety of outdoor conditions which includes lifting loads (minimum 30 lbs) and perform physically repetitive tasks

• Starting wages: Entry $23.00/hr , Experienced $25.00/hr+
• Mileage compensation (when company vehicles unavailable)
