Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited is hiring a lead arborist to safely direct multiple crews, oversee safety metrics, and mentor team members across locations in British Columbia. The role emphasizes planning, equipment operation, and maintenance responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Preferred background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping.
• 3-5 years’ experience as Arborist.
• 3+ years as a supervisor/lead.
• Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset.
• Certificate in crane operation, up to 8 ton required.
• Understanding and implementation of safely ascending tree canopies at all heights.
• ISA Certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Pesticide and herbicide license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently lead multiple crews and equipment in providing arboricultural care for our clients.
• Responsible for all safety metrics within the district.
• Assist in recruitment of team members.
• Provide mentorship, training, and oversee development.
• Take the lead in planning, sequencing, and execution of assigned work for crews.
• Provide support, expertise, and leadership on specialized jobs.
• Support other regions where required.
• Operate up to 8-ton crane.
• Oversee the preventative maintenance of all equipment within a specific location.
