Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited in Victoria, BC, is seeking a hands-on Arborist Leader to guide crews in delivering professional arboricultural care on site.

The role requires 3–5 years as an arborist and 3+ years in supervision, with a crane operation certificate (up to 8 ton) and a valid license. The company offers benefits, training, and growth opportunities.

• Provide support, expertise, and leadership on specialized jobs.
• Support other regions where required.
• Operate up to 8-ton crane.
• Oversee the preventative maintenance of all equipment within a specific location.

The pay rate for this position is $28-$35 per hour depending on experience and education.

Job Duties

Qualifications

• Preferred background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping.
• 3-5 years’ experience as Arborist.
• 3+ years as a supervisor/lead.
• Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset.
• Certificate in crane operation, up to 8 ton required.
• Understanding and implementation of the process of safely ascending tree canopies at all heights.
• ISA Certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Strong tree, knot and shrub identification skills.
• Pesticide and herbicide license preferred.

Additional Information

• Full time. Year-round employment.
• Pay rate of $28-$35 per hour depending on experience and education.
• Occasional overtime required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
