Job summary

MAC Islamic School Calgary is expanding and currently hiring qualified Arabic teachers for both campuses: Bridgeland and Ranchlands. Reporting to the school principal, you will prepare yearly lesson plans, manage classrooms, and communicate progress to parents.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of classroom Arabic experience, solid knowledge of classical Arabic, and strong organizational skills. Starting date is August 24th 2026; compensation depends on experience.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of classroom Arabic teaching experience.
• Solid knowledge of classical Arabic.
• Ability to follow written and spoken instructions.
• Ability to manage classrooms effectively.
• Team player and able to work independently.
• Organized, reliable and dedicated.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
• Working in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare yearly lesson plans based on student levels.
• Maintain classroom behavior, mutual respect and safety.
• Manage a classroom, develop lessons, write notes to parents, and conduct conferences.
• Prepare lessons following curriculum guidelines.
• Assess student needs and provide solutions in a fast-paced classroom.
• Evaluate students and communicate progress to parents.
• Assist with lesson plans, lectures, school functions and operations.
• Record daily attendance.
• Regularly follow up with parents and guardians.
• Evaluate students and mark tests.
• Prepare progress reports for students.
• Incorporate moto iRise, iLearn, iDiscover into lessons.

• K–9 Bridgeland Campus at 64 12 St NE
• K–4 Ranchlands Campus at Al‑Salam Centre, 6415 Ranchview Dr NW

Reporting directly to the school principal, the Arabic Teacher’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare yearly lesson plan, based on each student’s level.
• Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety within the classroom.
• Managing a classroom of students, developing lessons, writing letters to parents, handling parent teacher conferences, and preparing report cards to communicate improvement of students.
• Prepared lesson plans by following the curriculum guidelines and accommodating teaching methods.
• Interpreted student needs, and consulted with students to provide solutions in a fast paced classroom.
• Performed duties, such as: evaluating pupils' academic and social growth, maintaining appropriate records and progress reports, and communicating regularly with parents regarding each student's progress.
• Aid in class lesson plans, class lectures, school functions, and school operations.
• Recording daily attendance for students.
• Regularly follow up with parents and guardians.
• Evaluating student on a regular basis.
• Testing and marking students
• Preparing progress report for students.
• Implement our school’s moto iRise, iLearn, iDiscover into lesson plans.

Education and Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of previous in teaching Arabic in a classroom setting
• Must have solid and complete knowledge of classic Arabic
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to manage classrooms and any situations that arises
• Ability to thrive in a team as well as work independently
• Organized, reliable, and highly dedicated
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Google Sheets)
