Overview

Responsibilities would include:

  • Reports to and communicates directly with the Aquatics Director or Manager
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include holidays and weekends as required by business needs and as requested by management
  • Be correctly dressed in British Swim School uniform and prepared pool-side at least 15 minutes before the start of your first lesson
  • Engage with children/swimmers while smiling, singing, and having fun while teaching lessons
  • Follow safety procedures and the policies, teaching techniques and procedures of British Swim School
  • Use your training to teach techniques to all new swim instructors with an emphasis on survival skills
  • Observe classes and perform coaching reports to ensure proper safety protocols and swim techniques are being followed to British Swim School brand standards
  • Attend staff meetings and ongoing training/coaching as requested by the Aquatics Director or Manager
  • Conduct monthly in-service meetings and ongoing training for the instructor team
  • Inform the Deck Ambassador of any needs or maintenance issues
  • Speak with parents/customers about their children’s progress
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Aquatics Director or Franchise Business Owner

This position would start as a part-time role with an emphasis on teaching swim classes. As the business grows, there’s potential opportunity to transition to full time.

Requirements
  • Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid (current preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)
  • Willing to learn and follow franchise brand standards and guidelines
  • Previous experience as a swim instructor
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Enthusiastic, assertive personality with strong relationship and customer service skills
  • Effective communication with customers and employees; bi-lingual is a plus
  • Ability to demonstrate swim strokes appropriately

Hours may include weekends, mornings, late afternoons and early evenings.

Compensation and Schedule

Compensation: $20 to $23 per hour. Rate of compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
