THE ROLE

The Aquatics & Recreations Coordinator plans, coordinates and carries out the delivery of the aquatics & recreation programs. The employee develops and amends policies and procedures. The employee monitors, evaluates and recommends improvements to aquatic programs. Maintains aquatics filing system and enforces facility policies. The employee prepares and maintains budget and monitors, records, and documents financial transactions/commitments. The Aquatics & Recreation Coordinator determines aquatic program requirements.

Qualifications Needed

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Sports Administration, Recreation Management, Leisure Services, or a related field, AND some years of experience in recreation administration, or in a related field

AND

Current CPR And Basic First Aid Qualifications

Current National Lifeguard Service Certificate (NLS) qualifications

Current Lifesaving Society Advanced Instructor (Asset)

Current Lifesaving Society Instructor Trainer (asset)

Experience

In planning and evaluating the operations and delivery of aquatic and recreation programs

In applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation

In instructing aquatic training sessions

In preparing and conducting physical aquatic programs

In budget administration

In personnel administration

In pool management and maintenance

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

Language Requirements

English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset

Reading: Functional

Writing: Functional

Oral: Functional

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

Hours of Work:

1100-1900hrs Tuesday - Friday

0800-1600hrs Saturdays
