Qualifications

Aquatic Lead Instructor Advanced

Job Status: Temporary Part-Time

Pay & Grade: $23.81 to $32.14Hourly

Hours of Work:Up to 24 Hours per week

Initial location: Various Locations

Overview

The Aquatic Lead Instructor Advanced is responsible for delivering comprehensive aquatic leadership programs, including courses for National Lifeguard, Lifesaving Instructor, Swim Instructor, Assistant Instructor, and Standard First Aid and CPR-C. This role ensures compliance with health regulations, maintains equipment, evaluates participants, and responds to emergencies.

This position is to approximately June 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and conduct safe aquatic leadership programs, including National Lifeguard, Lifesaving Instructor, Swim Instructor, Assistant Instructor, and Standard First Aid and CPR-C courses.
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario Health Regulations and all relevant legislation and policies.
  • Maintain and store equipment properly, ensuring it is operational.
  • Evaluate and certify participants' performance, keeping accurate records of attendance and progress.
  • Communicate participants' performance and progress effectively.
  • Support the program with necessary tasks, including reports and records.
  • Respond to aquatic emergencies using safety and rescue equipment.
  • Consult with superiors regarding exceptional situations, such as dealing with difficult customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3 months of related experience
  • Must provide a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector check at your own expense as a condition of employment
  • Current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Certification
  • Current Lifesaving Society Instructors Certification
  • Current Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross Examiner Certification
  • Current Instructor Certification in one or more of the following:
    • Lifesaving Society Standard First Aid Instructor
    • Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Instructor
    • Lifesaving Society Instructor Trainer.
  • Current Lifesaving Society approved Standard First Aid and CPR Level "C" Certification
  • Customer service skills.
  • This work requires mental/sensory demands with visual or listening concentration while monitoring pool. Requires moderate physical activity primarily involving standing, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
