About the Role :

As our Principal Software Architect, reporting into the CTO, you’ll drive the technical vision and architectural strategy across multiple product lines and tech stacks. You'll collaborate with senior engineers, architects, data scientists, DevOps, product managers, and leadership to create scalable, secure, and future-proof solutions for the water industry.

In this role, a typical day will look like :

Every day, you’ll work alongside talented engineers, security experts, and product teams to keep our platforms secure, reliable, and efficient. You will :

  • Architect the Future – Design and enhance platforms for environmental, wastewater, drinking water, and IoT solutions.
  • Ensure Scalability & Performance – Develop robust, cloud-native architectures for a rapidly growing industry.
  • Lead & Inspire – Guide a geo-distributed team of architects and engineers in building next-gen solutions.
  • Prioritize Security & Compliance – Work closely with SecOps and compliance teams to meet evolving security standards.
  • Bridge Tech & Business – Partner with product managers and leadership to align architecture with business goals.

The essential requirements of the job include :

  • Proven experience in software architecture and technical leadership.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), microservices, and containerization (Kubernetes).
  • Hands-on experience with big data, IoT solutions, and zero-downtime deployments.
  • Strong communication skills – Ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of security standards (ISO27001, SOC2, FedRAMP, GDPR).
  • Passion for impact – A desire to innovate and contribute to solving global water challenges.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $160,000.00 - $200,000.00 CAD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.

The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
