APSSP - Temporary Behaviour Analyst

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 30,000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

General Description Of Duties

  • Conduct data driven functional behaviour assessments/analysis via direct observation
  • Administer & interpret level “B” assessment materials (non-diagnostic systems)
  • Develop and implement applied behaviour analysis strategies
  • Monitor functional behaviour interventions and data recording systems
  • Liaise between home, school, system staff and community (as appropriate)
  • Actively participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Build capacity by offering professional development to school and system staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters Degree with specialization in areas such as psychology, science, or other areas deemed equivelant. BCBA designation or the Ontario BACB Alternative Qualifications is required. Consideration will be given for applicants currently in pursuit of BCBA designation
  • Qualification training level “B” assessment testing materials
  • Experience with the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis and Intensive Behavioural Intervention
  • Experience working with children and youth with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Dual Diagnosis
  • Experience with the development of proactive behaviour intervention & modification
  • Experience in the scientific field of applied behavioural analysis, behaviour modification & CPS
  • Experience with school aged children in an educational setting
  • Experience with students with exceptional behavioural challenges & needs
  • Experience with design, implementation, and monitoring of PEERS
  • Experience with design, implementation, and monitoring of Pre-School Life Skills
  • Experience with design, implementation, and monitoring of Behavioural Skills Training
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Hold a current behaviour management systems certificate or equivalent
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and data software
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Participation in ongoing professional leadership development activities to enhance clinical practice

Desirable Assets

  • Familiarity with a wide range of special education services
  • Completion of 10 hours Practical Functional Assessment and Skill Based Treatment (PFA-SBT) training
  • Experience with design, implementation, and monitoring of PFA-SBT

Salary Range: $68,439.00 – $102,604.00 per year based on 194 school days per year and evaluation of years of experience in accordance with the provisions of the APSSP Collective Agreement.

Hours of Work: Temporary full-time, 35 hours per week from September 2, 2025 – June 26, 2026

Location: Various School Sites within Waterloo Region
