Job Title: Apprentice Pipefitters & Welder

Number of Openings: 2+

Job Type: Full-Time/Temporary

Minimum Level of Education: Registered Apprentice

Schedule: May 2 for 7-10 Days/11 hour days/$200 LOA per day worked/3 hours travel each way.

Locations to be Supported: Fox Creek, AB

Position Summary

We are seeking Apprentices Pipefitters or Welders to cut & cap piles in the Fox Creek area, AB. The successful candidate will report to the site supervisor.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on quality
  • Calculating weight of materials and/or spools to ensure proper equipment is used
  • Reading and interpreting client and company-supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications
  • Measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, bending, and assembling and installing piping, valves, and fittings
  • Joining pipe sections/related equipment and securing position
  • Using testing equipment to check systems for leaks
  • Complying with ONEC’s and client safety policies and procedures
  • Must be receptive to working with short notice for call outs, nights, and overtime upon client request
  • Operating machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Assembling machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Trade Journeyperson or Apprentice Certificate
  • Knowledge and experience of industry related safe work practices
  • Previous industrialexperience considered an asset
  • CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015
  • ESC H2S Alive/Must be clean shaven
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • Organized and self-motivated
  • Must be capable of physical labour
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet quality standards
  • Organizational and time management skills
