Qualifications

  • You must provide your welding helmet and approved steel-toed work boots.

Job description

As an apprentice welder and fabricator at IMARK Architectural Metals, you will work in our state-of-the-art fabrication facility. A Fabricator’s daily duties are physically demanding. They may range from welding various types of metals to shearing or braking on the shop floor, requiring skills in all areas of metal fabrication.

Our Team

At IMARK, you will collaborate with journeymen and apprentice welders, each bringing expertise in fabrication and specialized projects. Our miscellaneous metals team is led by seasoned industry professionals with over 40 years of hands-on experience in welding, fabrication, estimating, project management, sales, and engineering.

  • Monday to Friday, 7 : 30 am to 4 : 00 pm with some overtime required

Main Duties

  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Operate metal straightening and bending machine (shear and brake)

Employment Requirements

  • 1+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in welding stainless steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals is considered an asset
  • Ability to lift items that weigh up to or over 20 kg
  • High school diploma (minimum)
  • Registered Apprentice in Welding is considered an asset
  • Proficient spoken and written English
  • Experience using hand tools and small fabrication equipment
  • Knowledge of light gauge steel and custom fabrication
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • You must provide your welding helmet and approved steel-toed work boots.
