Job description

Position Summary

Strike is seeking Apprentice Welders with relevant experience in structural steel fabrication and rigging/hoisting. Our Welders take pride in their craft and uphold Strike's high standards of safety and quality.

Project Details
  • Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station
  • Nearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project)
  • Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off
  • Travel pay: $400/shift
  • Camp retention: $25/day
Core Accountabilities
  • Assist welders with fitting and welding activities by gathering pipe and fittings for carbon and stainless fabrication.
  • Clean and prepare pipe and fittings for fitting and welding.
  • Rig and hoist completed pipe spools for loading.
  • Record and track heat numbers on pipe and fittings for Quality Control.
  • Cut and prep pipe for fitting.
Qualifications
Education
  • Must be a registered apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority.
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Safety Tickets Required
  • CSTS 2020 or Common Safety Orientation (CSO).
  • Bear or Wildlife Awareness course.
  • Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED (St. John Ambulance or Canadian Red Cross) or WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1).
  • WHMIS 2015 (Strike can provide during onboarding).
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods – TDG (Strike can provide during onboarding).
  • Fall Protection Training.
  • Arial Work Platform Training.
