Overview

BMWToronto is actively seeking a 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Technician for a full-time position.

Job Function

The responsibility of an Apprentice Technician is to assist the technicians in performing vehicle repairs and maintenance work in accordance with dealer and factory standards, under the supervision of a licensed Technician.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of a licensed Technician, assist in diagnose, repair, and service vehicle to the accepted quality standards
  • Under the supervision of a licensed Technician, examine vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
  • Advise Technician or service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised
  • Communicate with service team and the Parts Department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by customer
  • Ensure customers’ vehicles are returned clean
  • Account for all dealership-owned tools at all times
  • Achieve the required level of performance dictated by shop objectives
  • Produce quality work that shows pride of workmanship
  • Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner
  • Participate in training and meetings as required; keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
  • Report any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the dealership, its personnel or customers, maintain a clean work environment
