The Apprentice/ Shop Hand is responsible for performing daily shop duties, exercising prioritization in assigned tasks and providing assistance to the Shop Supervisor and other shop employees.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the shop is clean and organized at all times.
• Provide assistance to the Shop Supervisor and other shop employees as required.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Pick-up and delivery of parts.
• Assist with warehouse related to shipping and receiving.
• Operate the overhead crane and forklift.
• Ability or competency to operate basic hand and power tools.
• Report any safety or mechanical deficiencies or other areas of concern to supervisor.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clear abstract is required.
• 1 - 2 years previous general labor experience.
• Enrolled or interested in the Millwright or HD Mechanic Apprenticeship.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with a loader/forklift is an asset.
• Knowledge of drilling rig components is an asset.

Technical Competencies
