We are an integrated project and engineering equipment fabricator specializing in the modularized design and packaging of process, refrigeration, and rotating equipment solutions. Most of our solutions are related to Energy Transition and carbon reduction industries.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting an Assembly Fitter to work at our Shepard Shop (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6). The Journeyperson Pipefitter plays a vital role in mounting majors and assembling small-bore and large-bore piping systems according to drawings on various skidded packages. Reporting to the Assembly Supervisor, work is completed by reading and interpreting P&IDs, GA’s and Piping Specifications. Additionally, they may mentor apprentices for skill development.Shift Schedule - 4:30-2:20 (4 days/week,10 hours/day). Overtime is as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Registered apprentice.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience working in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • A team player with good organizational skills and excellent communication skills
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):
ASSEMBLY
  • Installation and placement of major equipment.
  • Installation and support of spooling.
  • Skid layout for small bore piping.
  • Fitting of the socket and screwed small bore pipe.
  • Read, interpret and red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID's, G.A.’s)
  • Tack welding experience is an asset
