This millwright apprentice position is exclusively open to candidates who have completed their millwright education and are actively seeking practical experience as apprentices. Only such candidates are encouraged to apply.

On-the-job training to learn troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all mechanical functions, equipment, systems, buildings, and physical structures to ensure effective and efficient plant operations.

Essential Job Functions

The following functions are to be performed in accordance with the Operating Policy and Company Policy:

  • Support and promote safe practices and environmental commitments in line with company policies and compliance requirements.
  • Complete required Apprenticeship Classes and on-the-job training to learn key skills.
  • Perform mechanical preventative maintenance on all required equipment, including inspection, lubrication, adjustments, repairs, and taking faulty equipment out of operation until repaired.
  • Effectively troubleshoot mechanical equipment to identify issues and take corrective actions such as repair, replacement, or rebuilding.
  • Work safely and report all hazards.
  • Collaborate with Journeyman Mechanics to develop skills necessary for the apprenticeship program.
  • Read, interpret, and follow blueprints and sketches; make measurements and calculations.
  • Complete work orders, requisitions, inspection reports, and maintain proper records.
  • Receive guidance and feedback from journeymen and participate in the JAC apprenticeship process.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in typical mechanical tasks.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and wear a radio for communication.
  • Support plant operations, including housekeeping, and perform other duties as needed.
  • Work any shift, including holidays, weekends, and overtime.
  • Follow safety guidelines, wear PPE, and report hazards.
  • Attend safety meetings and complete safety audits and required training.

  • Maintain good attendance, punctuality, and dependability.
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
  • Complete quarterly reviews, classes, and apprenticeships requirements.
Job Location

Primarily on the production floor, with conditions that may be hot, noisy, and dirty, requiring PPE at all times.

Equipment
  • Use hand and power tools, measuring and testing instruments, material handling equipment, and office equipment.
Background/Education Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Completion of Apprenticeship program with five years to become a Journeyman Mechanic.
  • Flexibility in work hours and assignments.
Skills and Role Requirements
  • Knowledge of machine safety, lockout/tagout procedures, and operation of lift trucks and similar equipment.
  • Understanding of safety requirements.
Physical Demands

Standing, lifting, setting, and other physical activities required, with accommodations available if needed.
