Work Days / Hours:

8 days on – 6 days off ½ hour lunch.

Purpose of Role:

Maintaining Tiger’s vehicle fleet.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform maintenance and repair of heavy trucks and trailers;
2. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance;
3. Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer's specifications;
4. Maintain a clean and tidy personal work area and assist with general cleaning duties in a workshop environment;
5. Maintain a record of all work tasks on work orders in the TMT system;
6. Support and encourage continuous improvement in work practices;
7. Some out of hours work may be required for a call out basis;
8. Perform related work as required;
9. Completing daily job hazard assessments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, WORK EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:

1. 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice;
2. Experience with Cummins engines, hydraulic system, and Super B would be considered an asset;
3. Experience and considerable knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of heavy equipment and other power driven equipment and tools;
4. Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade;
5. Familiar with the TMT software program would be considered an asset;
6. Skilled in the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of trucks and heavy equipment;
7. Capable of preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports;
8. Ability to analyze and repair mechanical failures;
9. Has a collaborative communication style at all levels of the organization demonstrating an open, honest and consistent approach to working with others;
10. Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements including drug and alcohol and health assessment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK CONDITIONS:

1. Lifting, pulling, climbing, standing, sitting, lying down, squatting and kneeling and managing equipment and tools;
2. Must work outside in all different weather conditions, including cold and extreme heat. Work is performed in a repair shop environment.
