  • Assist with inspections, testing, and operate CNC equipment.
  • Mentor junior fabrication staff and support equipment maintenance.

Apprentice Instrument Technician at Edmonton Valve & Fitting. Located in Edmonton, AB, Canada. Open to candidates with a Bachelor Degree. This is an Entry Level position, with vacancies currently available.

Role Overview:
The Apprentice Instrument Technician will support the growth of the Custom Solutions department by increasing productivity and assisting team members with basic and intermediate duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and organization according to 5S standards
  • Assemble panels and assemblies
  • Assist with inspections and testing
  • Operate CNC equipment for bending and coiling
  • Support equipment maintenance
  • Mentor junior fabrication staff
  • Assist Field Engineering with layouts
  • Meet with customers for testing and layout discussions
  • Cut and deburr tubing
  • Bend tubing manually and with CNC bender
  • Install Swagelok tube fittings
  • Produce Swagelok hoses
  • Work hands-on with products and collaborate on projects
  • Participate in training via Swagelok University
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and as skills develop
Qualifications/Skills:

Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Trade Training
Assets (not required):
- Experience in technical industries, carpentry, millwright, metalworking, construction, electrical work, fabrication, or welding
- Experience in Oil & Gas or Instrumentation industries

Skills & Competencies:
- Intermediate proficiency with hand and power tools
- Basic computer skills (email, internet)
- Knowledge of analytics software (SAP, Crystal Reports, Excel, Power BI)
- Understanding of assembly, fabrication, or instrumentation
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read P&ID or CAD drawings
