Job summary

Komatsu Canada is seeking an Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician in Lively, Ontario. This role focuses on inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment while learning hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems in a shift that runs 5x2, from 8h/day.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

  • Valid Class G Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment.
  • Learn to service hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
  • Support scheduled maintenance and component rebuilds in a controlled shop setting.
  • Use tools and diagnostic software to identify issues and perform repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow all safety protocols.

Job Overview

Reports to:

General Supervisor, Shop

Shift:

5x2, Monday-Friday 8h/day

Safety Sensitive:

Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required

Travel:

up to 25% travel within Canada and potentially the USA

Relocation:

This role is not eligible for relocation
