Job summary

CEDA International in Conklin, AB is seeking an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic for our shop. You’ll work with a small team on varied equipment and learn from Journeymen while mastering preventative maintenance and diagnostics.

We offer competitive wages, health benefits, pension contributions, and a 14x14 shift with 12-hour days. Must be Registered Apprentice or higher, with a valid Class 5 license and the ability to provide your own tools; safety comes first.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician or higher.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's licence required with a clean driving record.
• Class 1 or 3 licence considered an asset.
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical and pump systems is an asset.
• Ability to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Must be able to provide your own tools.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance on Vacuum trucks, Combos, Water Trucks, Tankers, Skid-steers and Pressure Trucks.
• Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps.
• Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts.
• Occasionally attend service calls in the field.
• Work alongside Journeyman to learn and develop your skills.
• Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

CEDA has an immediate opening for an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic for our shop in Conklin AB.

We’re a small team, you’ll get to know the people as well as you know the equipment. The variety of interesting equipment with specialty components combined with the tools needed to do great work are a few reasons our shop team loves working here.

• RegisteredApprentice Heavy Equipment Technician or higher required


• Valid class 5 Driver’s licence required (non GDL) clean 5 year abstract


• Class 1 or 3 licence considered an asset


• Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset


• Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test


• Able to provide your own tools
