Job Overview
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking a qualified
Oilfield Electrician for a full-time position based in
Grande Prairie, Alberta. The successful candidate will perform maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in a dynamic oilfield environment. This role offers stable, year-round work with opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in an oilfield setting
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Follow all safety regulations and company protocols to ensure a safe working environment
- Coordinate with other trades and site personnel to complete work efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of work performed
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in an industrial or oilfield setting
- Solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and oilfield safety practices
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Required Safety Tickets:
- H2S Alive
- Standard First Aid with CPR/AED
- CSO (Common Safety Orientation) or BSO
- Fall Protection
- Confined Space Entry & Monitor
- WHMIS 2015
- Ground Disturbance (Level II preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in oilfield production or plant operations
- Familiarity with PLCs and automated control systems
- Previous work in high-voltage or hazardous locations considered an asset
Work Environment:
- Outdoor industrial/oilfield settings with exposure to changing weather conditions
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
