Job Overview

GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking a qualified Oilfield Electrician for a full-time position based in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The successful candidate will perform maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in a dynamic oilfield environment. This role offers stable, year-round work with opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in an oilfield setting
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Follow all safety regulations and company protocols to ensure a safe working environment
  • Coordinate with other trades and site personnel to complete work efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in an industrial or oilfield setting
  • Solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and oilfield safety practices
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Required Safety Tickets:
    • H2S Alive
    • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED
    • CSO (Common Safety Orientation) or BSO
    • Fall Protection
    • Confined Space Entry & Monitor
    • WHMIS 2015
    • Ground Disturbance (Level II preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in oilfield production or plant operations
  • Familiarity with PLCs and automated control systems
  • Previous work in high-voltage or hazardous locations considered an asset

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor industrial/oilfield settings with exposure to changing weather conditions
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
