Position Summary: Install electrical systems in new and existing buildings, including retrofit projects in a construction environment. Working conditions may include restricted movement, dirty environments, hazardous materials, moderate physical duties, and working at heights.

Responsibilities:

  1. Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations.
  2. Cut, bend, thread, and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings.
  3. Install wire through conduits and ceiling spaces.
  4. Install, replace, and repair electrical equipment.
  5. Splice, join, and connect wire components to form complete control systems.
  6. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  7. Perform tasks in accordance with Ainsworth Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  8. Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all applicable health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations.
  9. Some after-hours and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Pre-Apprenticeship program.
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology.
  • Ability to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematics.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to execute precision work.
  • Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation.
  • Must have own hand tools; power tools will be provided.
