About The Opportunity

Shermco Canada is seeking a motivated and safety-minded Apprentice Electrician to join our Saskatchewan Electrical Services team in Saskatoon. Our Electrical Services team provides electrical construction, maintenance, and specialty services and solutions to our many clients in industrial sectors such as Utility, Mining, Oil & Gas, Technology, and many more. From 24v to 230kV, our team does it all.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain power, instrumentation, process controls, and SCADA equipment.
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on power, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Provide technical expertise and support for troubleshooting of power and control systems.
• Coordinate repair, testing, and installation of power and control systems.
• Mechanical and electrical installations:
  • Rigid, EMT, PVC coated rigid conduit.
  • Service, feeders, and branch circuits.
  • Controls, fiber, and network cabling.
  • Stainless tubing and instrumentation.
  • Service equipment, MCC, panelboards.

Qualifications

• Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, or Apprentice Electrician is a plus but not a requirement.
• Field experience in the industrial field with power and control systems.
• Understanding of electrical schematics and controls.
• Self-motivated individual – able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Team-oriented, flexible, and willing to assist in other technical disciplines.
• Hand and power tool capabilities.
• Willingness to be hands-on and work in the field alongside our engineers and field technicians.
• Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate in English via verbal and written methods and be comfortable and effective doing so directly to customers and co-workers.
