Job summary

Sault Nissan is seeking a motivated Apprentice Automotive Service Technician to join our busy Service team in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

You will work under licensed technicians and work toward your 310S certification, gaining hands-on experience in inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks. This unionized role offers manufacturer training, structured growth, and a typical 40-hour week, Monday through Saturday, with shifts from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, plus paid time to study and complete

Qualifications

• Enrolment or eligibility for enrolment in the Ontario Automotive Service Technician (310S) apprenticeship program.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Valid drivers licence.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
• Willingness to complete required in-school training and examinations within the timelines set by the apprenticeship program.
• Apprentice wage: $22.41/hour.

Responsibilities

• Assist and work under the direction of licensed technicians on inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks
• Perform scheduled maintenance and manufacturer-recommended services appropriate to your training level
• Accumulate hours toward the Ontario Automotive Service Technician (310S) certification
• Complete required in-school and in-shop training components of the apprenticeship
• Document work performed, parts used, and recommendations as directed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Work collaboratively with Service, Parts, technicians, and other apprentices
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned

The Role

What You Bring

• Ability to provide and maintain the tools customarily required for the trade as your apprenticeship progresses
• Willingness to complete required in-school training and examinations within the timelines set by the apprenticeship program
• Compensation and Working Conditions
• Apprentice wage: $22.41/hour
• A standard 40-hour work week consisting of five shifts scheduled Monday through Saturday, generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour unpaid lunch, subject to the Collective Agreement
• Apprentices must write required licensing examinations within 90 days of completing all required apprenticeship hours
