Job summary

Oakville Nissan is looking for an Apprentice Automotive Service Technician to join our growing Service team. This role involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing customer vehicles while meeting dealership and manufacturer standards.

You will perform maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs with accuracy, document findings clearly, and communicate with Service Advisors. A strong mechanical background and ability to work independently and in a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a Service team.
• Own required hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair customer vehicles to dealership and Nissan standards.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Inspect vehicles and identify additional maintenance, safety or repair requirements.
• Document diagnostic findings, completed repairs and recommendations.
• Communicate with Service Advisors about additional work or timing impacts.
• Collaborate with Parts Department to obtain correct parts.
• Complete warranty repairs per Nissan requirements with supporting documentation.
• Road test and post-repair inspections to confirm operation and quality.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and continue professional development through training.

Oakville Nissan is looking for an Apprentice Automotive Service Technician to join our growing Service team.

We're looking for an experienced technician who takes pride in their workmanship, knows how to diagnose problems properly and understands the importance of getting the repair right the first time.

This is an opportunity to join an established dealership where you'll work alongside an experienced Service and Parts team, have access to ongoing manufacturer training and continue developing your skills as automotive technology evolves.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Apprentice Automotive Service Technician, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing customer vehicles while meeting dealership and manufacturer standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Inspect vehicles and identify additional maintenance, safety or repair requirements.
• Clearly document diagnostic findings, completed repairs and recommendations.
• Communicate with Service Advisors when additional work is required or when repairs may affect the expected completion time.
• Work collaboratively with the Parts Department to identify and obtain the correct parts required for repairs.
• Complete warranty repairs according to Nissan manufacturer requirements and provide accurate supporting documentation.
• Perform road tests and post-repair inspections when required to confirm vehicle operation and repair quality.
• Maintain the cleanliness and condition of customer vehicles throughout the repair process.
• Keep your technical knowledge current through manufacturer-sponsored training and ongoing professional development.
• Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area.
• Follow all Occupational Health and Safety requirements, dealership policies and established safety procedures.

Required

• Ability to communicate repair findings clearly and professionally

Considered an Asset

• Previous dealership or independent shop experience, 1-2 years would be a strong asset
